1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to the notice provided by the chief appraiser of an
1212 appraisal district of the availability of agreement forms
1313 authorizing certain electronic communications.
1414 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1515 SECTION 1. Section 1.085(h), Tax Code, is amended to read as
1616 follows:
1717 (h) This subsection applies to the chief appraiser of an
1818 appraisal district only if the appraisal district is located in a
1919 county described by Subsection (g) or the chief appraiser has
2020 decided to authorize electronic communication under this section
2121 and the appraisal district has implemented a system that allows
2222 such communication. The chief appraiser shall provide notice
2323 regarding the availability of agreement forms authorizing
2424 electronic communication under this section. The chief appraiser
2525 shall provide the notice by:
2626 (1) publishing a notice in a newspaper having general
2727 circulation in the district at least once on or before February 1 of
2828 each year that includes the words "Notice of Availability of
2929 Electronic Communications"; or
3030 (2) delivering the agreement form on or before
3131 February 1, or as soon as practicable after that date, to each owner
3232 of property shown on the certified appraisal roll for the preceding
3333 tax year and on or before February 1 of each subsequent year, or as
3434 soon as practicable after that date, to each new owner of property
3535 shown on the certified appraisal roll for the preceding tax year.
3636 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
