99 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to reimbursement of health care services rendered by a
1212 health care provider for an inmate of a county jail or another
1313 county correctional facility.
1414 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1515 SECTION 1. Section 61.036(c), Health and Safety Code, is
1616 amended to read as follows:
1717 (c) Regardless of the application, documentation, and
1818 verification procedures or eligibility standards established by
1919 the department under Subchapter A, a county may credit an
2020 expenditure for an eligible resident toward eligibility for state
2121 assistance if the eligible resident received the health care
2222 services at:
2323 (1) a hospital maintained or operated by a state
2424 agency that has a contract with the county to provide health care
2525 services; [or]
2626 (2) a federally qualified health center delivering
2727 federally qualified health center services, as those terms are
2828 defined in 42 U.S.C. Sections 1396d(l)(2)(A) and (B), that has a
2929 contract with the county to provide health care services; or
3030 (3) a hospital or other health care provider if the
3131 eligible resident is an inmate of a county jail or another county
3232 correctional facility.
3333 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
