99 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1010 AN ACT
1111 relating to the composition of an administrative authority for a
1212 defense economic readjustment zone.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 2310.202, Government Code, is amended to
1515 read as follows:
1616 Sec. 2310.202. ADMINISTRATION BY ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY.
1717 (a) The governing body of a readjustment zone may delegate its
1818 administrative duties to an administrative authority appointed by
1919 the governing body.
2020 (b) An administrative authority must:
2121 (1) be composed of 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, or 15 members; and
2222 (2) be a viable and responsive body generally
2323 representative of all public or private entities that have a stake
2424 in the development of the zone[; and
2525 [(3) if the readjustment zone includes private
2626 residences, include:
2727 [(A) an elected official representing
2828 readjustment zone residents and businesses; or
2929 [(B) at least two readjustment zone residents].
3030 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3131 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3232 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3333 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3434 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
