99 AN ACT
1010 relating to eligibility requirements for a residential fire alarm
1111 training school instructor.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 6002.158(c), Insurance Code, is amended
1414 to read as follows:
1515 (c) Training school instructors must be approved by the
1616 state fire marshal. To be eligible for approval, an instructor
1717 must:
1818 (1) hold a fire alarm planning superintendent license,
1919 a residential fire alarm superintendent license, or a fire alarm
2020 technician license; and
2121 (2) have at least three years of experience in fire
2222 alarm installation, service, or monitoring.
2323 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only
2424 to an application for approval or renewal of approval of a training
2525 school instructor submitted to the state fire marshal on or after
2626 the effective date of this Act. An application submitted before the
2727 effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect
2828 immediately before the effective date of this Act, and that law is
2929 continued in effect for that purpose.
3030 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
