| 14 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | is amended by adding Section 225.0431 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Sec. 225.0431. CESAR CHAVEZ MEMORIAL FREEWAY. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (a) Interstate Highway 35W between Interstate Highway 20 and State |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Highway 183 is designated as the Cesar Chavez Memorial Freeway. The |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | designation is in addition to any other designation. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |

| 22 | 22 | | (1) design and construct memorial markers indicating |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the designation as the Cesar Chavez Memorial Freeway and any other |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |

| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
