99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the authority of a statutory probate court in Collin
1111 County to hear and determine certain matters pending in a district
1212 or statutory county court.
1313 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1414 SECTION 1. Section 25.0453, Government Code, is amended by
1515 adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
1616 (g) Notwithstanding Section 74.094, a statutory probate
1717 court judge may hear and determine a matter pending in any district
1818 or statutory county court in Collin County regardless of whether
1919 the matter is preliminary or final or whether there is a judgment in
2020 the matter. The judge may sign a judgment or order in any of the
2121 courts regardless of whether the case is transferred. The
2222 judgment, order, or action is valid and binding as if the case were
2323 pending in the court of the judge who acts in the matter. The
2424 authority of this subsection applies to an active judge or a former
2525 or retired judge assigned to a statutory probate court.
2626 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
