| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 8.0531 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 8.0531. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS DEVELOPED BY A |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | COLLABORATION OF REGIONAL EDUCATION SERVICE CENTERS. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Notwithstanding any other provision of this subchapter or Section |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 8.001(c), instructional lessons developed as part of a curriculum |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | management system by a regional education service center, acting |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | alone or in collaboration with one or more other regional education |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | service centers, shall be subject to the same review and adoption |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | process as outlined in Section 31.022. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
