| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 2166, Government Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 2166.554 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 2166.554. LEASE OF FEDERAL PROPERTY FOR DEPARTMENT OF | |
| 14 | 14 | PUBLIC SAFETY. (a) The Department of Public Safety of the State of | |
| 15 | 15 | Texas may enter into a long-term lease of a portion of federal real | |
| 16 | 16 | property known as Fort Bliss. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) A lease entered into under Subsection (a): | |
| 18 | 18 | (1) is for the use and benefit of this state; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) may be for a period or term until the real property | |
| 20 | 20 | is donated to the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
