9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 418.013, Government Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (e) The chief of the division shall establish a workgroup of | |
13 | 13 | appropriate emergency management council members, local government | |
14 | 14 | officials, and nonprofit organizations to determine if a uniform | |
15 | 15 | application form for assistance following a disaster may be | |
16 | 16 | developed for use by state agencies and by persons requesting | |
17 | 17 | assistance from state agencies. The workgroup shall report its | |
18 | 18 | findings, including recommendations for any necessary statutory | |
19 | 19 | changes, to the legislature before September 1, 2014. This | |
20 | 20 | subsection expires September 1, 2014. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
