10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subdivision (2), Subsection (a-1), Section |
---|
12 | 12 | | 25.025, Tax Code, is amended to read as follows: |
---|
13 | 13 | | (2) "State judge" means: |
---|
14 | 14 | | (A) a judge, former judge, or retired judge of an |
---|
15 | 15 | | appellate court, a district court, a statutory probate court, a |
---|
16 | 16 | | constitutional county court, or a county court at law of this state; |
---|
17 | 17 | | (B) an associate judge appointed under Chapter |
---|
18 | 18 | | 201, Family Code, or Chapter 54A, Government Code, or a retired |
---|
19 | 19 | | associate judge or former associate judge appointed under either |
---|
20 | 20 | | law [that chapter]; [or] |
---|
21 | 21 | | (C) a justice of the peace; |
---|
22 | 22 | | (D) a master, magistrate, referee, hearing |
---|
23 | 23 | | officer, or associate judge appointed under Chapter 54, Government |
---|
24 | 24 | | Code; or |
---|
25 | 25 | | (E) a municipal court judge. |
---|
26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
27 | 27 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
28 | 28 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
29 | 29 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
30 | 30 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
