77 relating to the peace officers authorized to operate an authorized

99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 546.002, Transportation
1111 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (a) In this section, "police escort" means facilitating the
1313 movement of a funeral, oversized or hazardous load, or other
1414 traffic disruption for public safety purposes by a peace officer
1515 described by Articles 2.12(1)-(4), (8), (12), and (22), Code of
1616 Criminal Procedure.
1717 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1818 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1919 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2020 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2121 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
