9- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
104 AN ACT
115 relating to the practice of barbering and cosmetology at certain
126 events.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 1601.455(b), Occupations Code, is
159 amended to read as follows:
1610 (b) A person holding a license, certificate, or permit under
1711 this chapter may perform a service within the scope of the license,
1812 certificate, or permit at a location other than a licensed facility
1913 for a client:
2014 (1) who, because of illness or physical or mental
2115 incapacitation, is unable to receive the services at a licensed
2216 facility; or
2317 (2) in preparation for and at the location of a special
2418 event, including a wedding.
2519 SECTION 2. Section 1602.407(b), Occupations Code, is
2620 amended to read as follows:
2721 (b) A person holding a license, certificate, or permit under
2822 this chapter may perform a service within the scope of the license,
2923 certificate, or permit at a location other than a licensed facility
3024 for a client:
3125 (1) who, because of illness or physical or mental
3226 incapacitation, is unable to receive the services at a licensed
3327 facility; or
3428 (2) in preparation for and at the location of a special
3529 event, including a wedding.
3630 SECTION 3. Not later than December 1, 2015, the Texas
3731 Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall adopt rules to
3832 implement Sections 1601.455(b) and 1602.407(b), Occupations Code,
3933 as amended by this Act.
4034 SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
