                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 26, 2015      TO: Honorable Angie Chen Button, Chair, House Committee on Economic & Small Business Development      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1049 by Rodriguez, Eddie (Relating to the classification of licensed massage therapy programs as postsecondary education programs.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 455 of the Occupations Code to classify massage therapy instruction provided by a licensed massage school as a postsecondary education program. The bill would authorize certain massage schools to operate educational programs at the postsecondary level. It is anticiapted that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
