| 14 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 455.203, Occupations Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 16 | 9 | | adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 10 | | (e) The course of instruction in massage therapy provided by |
|---|
| 18 | 11 | | a licensed massage school is a postsecondary education program. |
|---|
| 19 | 12 | | (f) A massage school that provides instruction to persons |
|---|
| 20 | 13 | | beyond the age of compulsory education is authorized to operate |
|---|
| 21 | 14 | | educational programs in massage therapy at the postsecondary level. |
|---|
| 22 | 15 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act to Section |
|---|
| 23 | 16 | | 455.203, Occupations Code, does not confer any new or additional |
|---|
| 24 | 17 | | regulatory authority on the Department of State Health Services or |
|---|
| 25 | 18 | | prescribe any new or additional requirements for massage schools |
|---|
| 26 | 19 | | licensed under Chapter 455, Occupations Code. |
|---|
| 27 | 20 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 28 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 29 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 30 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 31 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
