| 13 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 662.106(a), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | (a) September [October] is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | to: |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | (1) increase public awareness of hydrocephalus, a |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | serious neurological condition characterized by the abnormal |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | buildup of cerebrospinal fluids in the ventricles of the brain; and |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | (2) encourage the development of partnerships between |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | the federal government, health care professionals, and patient |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | advocacy groups to advance the public's understanding of the |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | condition, improve the diagnosis and treatment of the condition, |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | and support research for a cure. |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 30 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
