214 AN ACT
225 relating to the eligibility of certain persons to serve on the board
236 of a property owners' association.
247 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
258 SECTION 1. Section 209.00591(b), Property Code, is amended
269 to read as follows:
2710 (b) If a board is presented with written, documented
2811 evidence from a database or other record maintained by a
2912 governmental law enforcement authority that a board member was [has
3013 been] convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude not
3114 more than 20 years before the date the board is presented with the
3215 evidence, the board member is immediately ineligible to serve on
3316 the board of the property owners' association, automatically
3417 considered removed from the board, and prohibited from future
3518 service on the board.
3619 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
