| 24 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 25 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 209.00591(b), Property Code, is amended |
|---|
| 26 | 9 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 27 | 10 | | (b) If a board is presented with written, documented |
|---|
| 28 | 11 | | evidence from a database or other record maintained by a |
|---|
| 29 | 12 | | governmental law enforcement authority that a board member was [has |
|---|
| 30 | 13 | | been] convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude not |
|---|
| 31 | 14 | | more than 20 years before the date the board is presented with the |
|---|
| 32 | 15 | | evidence, the board member is immediately ineligible to serve on |
|---|
| 33 | 16 | | the board of the property owners' association, automatically |
|---|
| 34 | 17 | | considered removed from the board, and prohibited from future |
|---|
| 35 | 18 | | service on the board. |
