| 13 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 1305.051(a), Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | (a) The advisory board consists of nine members appointed by |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | the presiding officer of the commission with the approval of the |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | commission as follows: |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | (1) three master electrician members; |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | (2) three journeyman electrician members; [and] |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | (3) one master sign electrician member; and |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | (4) two [three] public members. |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act to Section |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | 1305.051(a), Occupations Code, regarding the qualifications for a |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | member of the Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board do not |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | affect the entitlement of a member serving on the board immediately |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | before the effective date of this Act to continue to serve and |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | function as a member of the board for the remainder of the member's |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | term. When board vacancies occur on or after the effective date of |
|---|
| 30 | 24 | | this Act, the presiding officer of the Texas Commission of |
|---|
| 31 | 25 | | Licensing and Regulation shall appoint new members to the board in a |
|---|
| 32 | 26 | | manner that reflects the changes in law made by this Act. |
|---|
| 33 | 27 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
