                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2015      TO: Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1230 by Anderson, Rodney (Relating to the prosecution of certain offenses involving the operation of an overweight vehicle.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Transportation Code to permit either justice of the peace or municipality courts to have jurisdiction over certain offenses related to the operation of overweight vehicles. The Office of Court Administration reported no significant fiscal impact to the state court is anticipated. Local Government Impact There could be a reduction of caseload in some justice courts and a corresponding increase of caseload in municipal courts; however, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
