| 7 | 7 | | relating to the prosecution of certain offenses involving the |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 623.019(f), Transportation Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (f) A justice or municipal court [of the peace] has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | jurisdiction of an [any] offense under this section. [A municipal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | court has jurisdiction of an offense under this section in which the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | fine does not exceed $500.] |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
