                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 8, 2015      TO: Honorable Charles Perry, Chair, Senate Committee on Agriculture, Water & Rural Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1232 by Lucio III (Relating to a study by the Texas Water Development Board of the hydrology and geology of the confined and unconfined aquifers in this state.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) to conduct a detailed statewide study on the hydrology and geology of confined and unconfined aquifers. The study would be due no later than December 31, 2016, and be provided to the lieutenant governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the standing committees in the Senate and the House of Representatives that have jurisdiction over natural resources. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
