                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 25, 2015      TO: Honorable Myra Crownover, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB1282 by Zerwas (relating to a human papillomavirus-associated cancer strategic plan developed by the Department of State Health Services.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require that the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) collaborate with the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to develop a strategic plan to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality from human papillomavirus-associated cancer. The bill authorizes DSHS to convene any necessary workgroups. The bill would require that DSHS deliver the strategic plan to the governor and members of the legislature by December 31, 2016. Both DSHS and CPRIT indicate that they could implement the provisions of the bill within current resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
