7		-	relating to the eligibility of presidential general election

8	9		debates for distributions from a Major Events trust fund.
9	10		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
10	11		SECTION 1. Sections 5A(a)(4) and (5), Chapter 1507 (S.B.
11	12		456), Acts of the 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article
12		-	5190.14, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), are amended to read as
13		-	follows:
	13	+	5190.14, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), as amended by S.B. 293,
	14	+	Acts of the 84th Legislature, Regular Session, 2015, are amended to
	15	+	read as follows:
14	16		(4) "Event" means a Super Bowl, a National Collegiate
15	17		Athletic Association Final Four tournament game, the National
16	18		Basketball Association All-Star Game, the X Games, the National
17	19		Hockey League All-Star Game, the Major League Baseball All-Star
18	20		Game, a game of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Bowl
19	21		Championship Series or its successor or a National Collegiate
20	22		Athletic Association Division I Football Bowl Subdivision
21	23		postseason playoff or championship game, a World Cup Soccer game,
22	24		the World Games, a national collegiate championship of an amateur
23	25		sport sanctioned by the national governing body of the sport that is
24	26		recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, an Olympic
25	27		activity, including a Junior or Senior activity, training program,
26	28		or feeder program sanctioned by the United States Olympic
27	29		Committee's Community Olympic Development Program, a mixed martial
28	30		arts championship, the Breeders' Cup World Championships, a Formula
29	31		One automobile race, the Academy of Country Music Awards, the
30	32		National Cutting Horse Association Triple Crown, a presidential
31	33		general election debate, a national political convention of the
32	34		Republican National Committee or the Democratic National
33	35		Committee, or the largest event held each year at a sports
34	36		entertainment venue in this state with a permanent seating
35	37		capacity, including grandstand and premium seating, of not less
36	38		than 125,000. The term includes any activities related to or
37	39		associated with an event.
38	40		(5) "Site selection organization" means:
39	41		(A) the National Football League, the National
40	42		Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Basketball
41		-	Association, the National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, the
42		-	Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the
43		-	International World Games Association, or the United States Olympic
44		-	Committee;
	43	+	Association, ESPN or an affiliate, the National Hockey League,
	44	+	Major League Baseball, the Federation Internationale de Football
	45	+	Association (FIFA), the International World Games Association, the
	46	+	National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), or the
	47	+	United States Olympic Committee;
45	48		(B) the national governing body of a sport that
46	49		is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, the National
47	50		Thoroughbred Racing Association, Formula One Management Limited,
48	51		or the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile;
49	52		(C) the Academy of Country Music;
50		-	(D) the National Cutting Horse Association; ~~[or]~~
	53	+	(D) the National Cutting Horse Association;
51	54		(E) the Republican National Committee or the
52		-	Democratic National Committee; or
53		-	(F) the Commission on Presidential Debates.
	55	+	Democratic National Committee; [or]
	56	+	(F) the Ultimate Fighting Championship; or
	57	+	(G) the Commission on Presidential Debates.
54	58		SECTION 2. Section 5A, Chapter 1507 (S.B. 456), Acts of the
55	59		76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article 5190.14, Vernon's
56	60		Texas Civil Statutes), is amended by adding Subsection (a-3) to
57	61		read as follows:
58	62		(a-3) For purposes of Subsection (a-1) of this section, each
59	63		presidential general election debate in a series of presidential
60	64		debates before a general election is considered a separate, single
61	65		event.
62	66		SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
