A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to fees of office for the Velasco Drainage District.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 44, Acts of the 57th Legislature, 3rd
Called Session, 1962, is amended by adding Section 3A to read as
follows:
Sec. 3A. (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a
Supervisor is entitled to receive fees of office in accordance with
Section 49.060, Water Code.
(b) Notwithstanding Section 49.060(a-1), Water Code, the
District may not set the annual limit on the fees of office that a
Supervisor may receive in a year at an amount greater than $12,000.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
