 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to an election to repeal a photographic traffic signal
 enforcement system ordinance.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Chapter 707, Transportation Code, is amended by
 adding Section 707.0022 to read as follows:
 Sec. 707.0022.  ELECTION TO REPEAL ORDINANCE. (a)  The
 governing body of a local authority shall submit to the voters of
 the local authority the question of repealing an ordinance adopted
 under Section 707.002 if the governing body receives a petition
 that requests the election and is signed by 10 percent of the
 registered voters of the local authority.
 (b)  If a majority of the votes cast at the election favor the
 repeal of the ordinance, the governing body:
 (1)  shall repeal the ordinance; and
 (2)  may not subsequently adopt an ordinance under
 Section 707.002.
 (c)  An election on the question of repealing an ordinance
 under Section 707.002 may not be held more often than every two
 years.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
