99 relating to certain assessments for children in the conservatorship
1010 of the Department of Family and Protective Services.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Chapter 266, Family Code, is amended by adding
1313 Section 266.012 to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 266.012. COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENTS. (a) Not later
1515 than the 45th day after the date a child enters the conservatorship
1616 of the department, the child shall receive a developmentally
1717 appropriate comprehensive assessment. The assessment must include:
1818 (1) a screening for trauma; and
1919 (2) interviews with individuals who have knowledge of
2020 the child's needs.
2121 (b) The department shall develop guidelines regarding the
2222 contents of an assessment report.
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
