11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 266, Family Code, is amended by adding |
---|
13 | 13 | | Section 266.012 to read as follows: |

14 | 14 | | Sec. 266.012. COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENTS. (a) Not later |
---|
15 | 15 | | than the 45th day after the date a child enters the conservatorship |
---|
16 | 16 | | of the department, the child shall receive a developmentally |
---|
17 | 17 | | appropriate comprehensive assessment. The assessment must include: |
---|
18 | 18 | | (1) a screening for trauma; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | (2) interviews with individuals who have knowledge of |
---|
20 | 20 | | the child's needs. |
---|
21 | 21 | | (b) The department shall develop guidelines regarding the |
---|
22 | 22 | | contents of an assessment report. |
---|
23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
