55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to an exemption from the requirement that a legislative
88 caucus file reports of contributions and expenditures if no
99 reportable activity occurs.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Sections 254.0311(c) and (d), Election Code, are
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 (c) If no reportable activity occurs during a reporting
1414 period, the legislative caucus is not required to file a report for
1515 that period [shall indicate that fact in the report].
1616 (d) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a [A] legislative
1717 caucus shall file with the commission two reports for each year.
1818 SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
1919 a report of contributions to and expenditures by a legislative
2020 caucus that is required to be filed on or after the effective date
2121 of this Act. A report that is required to be filed before that date
2222 is governed by the law in effect when the report was filed, and the
2323 former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
2424 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
