                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 30, 2015      TO: Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB2346 by Pickett (Relating to granting limited state law enforcement authority to commissioned law enforcement officers of a Federal Reserve bank.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to stipulate that a commissioned law enforcement officer of a Federal Reserve bank is not a peace officer under the laws of this state, but has the powers of arrest, search, and seizure as to any felony or misdemeanor offense committed under the laws of this state under certain specified conditions. It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within current resources.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
