| 8 | 8 | | commissioned law enforcement officers of a Federal Reserve bank. |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Article 2.122, Code of Criminal Procedure, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (h) A commissioned law enforcement officer of a Federal |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Reserve bank is not a peace officer under the laws of this state but |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | has the powers of arrest, search, and seizure as to any felony or |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | misdemeanor offense committed under the laws of this state: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) when the offense is committed on the premises, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | grounds, or property of a Federal Reserve bank or the Federal |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Reserve System; or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (2) while the officer is protecting: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (A) the personnel of a Federal Reserve bank or of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, including |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | members of the board; or |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (B) operations conducted by or on behalf of a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Federal Reserve bank or the board of governors. |

| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
