A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to an annual report on the financial impact of
undocumented immigrants on the state budget and economy.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 403.0307 to read as follows:
Sec. 403.0307. REPORT ON FINANCIAL IMPACT OF UNDOCUMENTED
IMMIGRANTS. (a) Not later than September 1 of each year, the
comptroller shall publish a report containing a comprehensive
financial analysis of the impact of undocumented immigrants on the
state budget and economy.
(b) For purposes of the annual report, the comptroller shall
apply the methodology used for the comptroller's special report,
"Undocumented Immigrants in Texas: A Financial Analysis of the
Impact to the State Budget and Economy," published in December
2006.
SECTION 2. The comptroller shall publish the first report
required under Section 403.0307, Government Code, as added by this
Act, not later than September 1, 2016.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
