| 22 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 23 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 681, Business & Commerce |
|---|
| 24 | 9 | | Code, is amended by adding Section 681.179 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 25 | 10 | | Sec. 681.179. CITY OF PHARR OR DESIGNEE. The City of Pharr, |
|---|
| 26 | 11 | | or a corporation organized under the laws of this state and |
|---|
| 27 | 12 | | designated by the City of Pharr, may apply for and accept a grant of |
|---|
| 28 | 13 | | authority to establish, operate, and maintain: |
|---|
| 29 | 14 | | (1) a foreign trade zone at or adjacent to the Pharr |
|---|
| 30 | 15 | | port of entry; and |
|---|
| 31 | 16 | | (2) other subzones. |
|---|
| 32 | 17 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 33 | 18 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 34 | 19 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 35 | 20 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 36 | 21 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
