The bill would create the Task Force to Study Population Growth in Texas to assess the effect of population growth on housing, businesses, land resources and the economy. The bill would establish the duties, compensation, and composition of the task force, including the manner in which appointments to the task force are made. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; otherwise, it would take effect on September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
