The bill would create the Task Force to Study Population Growth in Texas to assess the effects of population growth on counties relating to housing, businesses, land resources, the economy, health care services, and county jails. The bill would establish the duties, compensation, and composition of the task force, including the manner in which appointments to the task force are made. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; otherwise, it would take effect on September 1, 2015. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
