| 12 | 12 | SUBTITLE L. FEDERAL PATIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE ACT | |
| 13 | 13 | CHAPTER 1691. HEALTH BENEFIT EXCHANGE | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 1691.001. HEALTH BENEFIT EXCHANGE PROHIBITED. A | |
| 15 | 15 | health benefit exchange described in the Patient Protection and | |
| 16 | 16 | Affordable Care Act (Pub. L. No. 111-148), as amended by the Health | |
| 17 | 17 | Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Pub. L. | |
| 18 | 18 | No. 111-152), may not be established in this state. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 20 | 20 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 21 | 21 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 22 | 22 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
