115 relating to the use of the juvenile case manager fund.
126 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
137 SECTION 1. Article 102.0174(g), Code of Criminal Procedure,
148 is amended to read as follows:
159 (g) A fund created under this section may be used [only] to
1610 finance the salary, benefits, training, travel expenses, office
1711 supplies, and other necessary expenses relating to the position of
1812 a juvenile case manager employed under Article 45.056. If there is
1913 money in the fund after those costs are paid, on approval by the
2014 employing court, a juvenile case manager may direct the remaining
2115 money to be used to implement programs directly related to the
2216 duties of the juvenile case manager, including juvenile alcohol and
2317 substance abuse programs, educational and leadership programs, and
2418 any other projects designed to prevent or reduce the number of
2519 juvenile referrals to the court. The fund may not be used to
2620 supplement the income of an employee whose primary role is not that
2721 of a juvenile case manager.
2822 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2923 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3024 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3125 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3226 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
