12 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

13 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Article 102.0174(g), Code of Criminal Procedure, |
---|
14 | 8 | | is amended to read as follows: |
---|
15 | 9 | | (g) A fund created under this section may be used [only] to |
---|
16 | 10 | | finance the salary, benefits, training, travel expenses, office |
---|
17 | 11 | | supplies, and other necessary expenses relating to the position of |
---|
18 | 12 | | a juvenile case manager employed under Article 45.056. If there is |
---|
19 | 13 | | money in the fund after those costs are paid, on approval by the |
---|
20 | 14 | | employing court, a juvenile case manager may direct the remaining |
---|
21 | 15 | | money to be used to implement programs directly related to the |
---|
22 | 16 | | duties of the juvenile case manager, including juvenile alcohol and |
---|
23 | 17 | | substance abuse programs, educational and leadership programs, and |
---|
24 | 18 | | any other projects designed to prevent or reduce the number of |
---|
25 | 19 | | juvenile referrals to the court. The fund may not be used to |
---|
26 | 20 | | supplement the income of an employee whose primary role is not that |
---|
27 | 21 | | of a juvenile case manager. |
---|
28 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
29 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
30 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
31 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
32 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
