A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to notice concerning the availability to persons who
transport agricultural products of an overweight vehicle permit.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 12, Agriculture Code, is amended by
adding Section 12.051 to read as follows:
Sec. 12.051. NOTICE CONCERNING AVAILABILITY OF OVERWEIGHT
VEHICLE PERMIT. (a) The department shall provide information about
the permit issued under Section 623.011, Transportation Code, and
the availability to persons who transport agricultural products of
that permit:
(1) on the department's Internet website; and
(2) in any department publication related to the
production, processing, storage, or delivery of an agricultural
product, the transportation of which may require that permit.
(b) The department shall adopt rules to:
(1) provide the form and content of a notice
concerning the permit issued under Section 623.011, Transportation
Code, and the availability to persons who transport agricultural
products of that permit; and
(2) require facilities involved in the production,
processing, storage, or delivery of an agricultural product, the
transportation of which may require that permit, to post the notice
in the facility.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
