10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 11, Tax Code, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Section 11.49 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 11.49. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS. (a) In this section, | |
14 | 14 | "supporting document" means a document required by this code or | |
15 | 15 | other law to be filed with the chief appraiser to demonstrate a | |
16 | 16 | person's eligibility for an exemption from ad valorem taxation. | |
17 | 17 | (b) The chief appraiser may not post on the appraisal | |
18 | 18 | district's Internet website a supporting document included with an | |
19 | 19 | application for an exemption filed with the chief appraiser. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
