A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to expanding the memorial sign program for motorcyclists
to include bicyclists.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 201.911, Transportation
Code, is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 201.911. MEMORIAL SIGN PROGRAM FOR MOTORCYCLISTS AND
BICYCLISTS.
SECTION 2. Sections 201.911(a) and (b), Transportation
Code, are amended to read as follows:
(a) In this section, "victim" means a person killed in a
highway accident while operating or riding on a motorcycle or
riding on a bicycle.
(b) The commission by rule shall establish and administer a
memorial sign program to publicly memorialize the victims of
motorcycle and bicycle accidents.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
