| 22 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 23 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 253.014(b), Local Government Code, is |
|---|
| 24 | 9 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 25 | 10 | | (b) The governing body of a home-rule municipality may |
|---|
| 26 | 11 | | contract with a broker to sell a tract of real property that [is |
|---|
| 27 | 12 | | owned by] the municipality: |
|---|
| 28 | 13 | | (1) owns; or |
|---|
| 29 | 14 | | (2) holds in trust and has the authority to sell. |

| 30 | 15 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |

| 31 | 16 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 32 | 17 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 33 | 18 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |

| 34 | 19 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
