 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to providing a parent of a public school student with
 certain required notices in the parent's native language.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 39.052, Education Code, is amended by
 adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows:
 (e-1)  The notification to parents of students enrolled in
 the district required under Subsection (e) must be written in a
 parent's native language if that language is a second language for
 at least 10 percent of the students attending the school campus in
 which the parent's child is enrolled.
 SECTION 2.  Section 39.303, Education Code, is amended by
 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
 (c)  The written notice to a student's parent or other person
 standing in parental relationship required under Subsection (a)
 must be written in the native language of the parent or person
 standing in parental relationship if that language is a second
 language for at least 10 percent of students attending the school
 campus in which the student is enrolled.
 SECTION 3.  Section 39.305, Education Code, is amended by
 adding Subsection (e) to read as follows:
 (e)  The information required to be given to the parent or
 other person standing in parental relationship of each student
 under Subsection (c) must be written in the native language of the
 parent or person standing in parental relationship if that language
 is a second language for at least 10 percent of students attending
 the school campus in which the student is enrolled.
 SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
