| 15 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 16 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 2052.055, Occupations Code, is amended |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | to read as follows: |

| 18 | 12 | | Sec. 2052.055. COMBATIVE SPORTS [MEDICAL] ADVISORY BOARD |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | [COMMITTEE]. (a) The presiding officer of the commission, with the |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | commission's approval, may appoint a combative sports [medical] |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | advisory board [committee] to advise the department concerning |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | [health] issues relating to [for] combative sports events and |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | [event] contestants. |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | (b) If the commission elects to appoint an advisory board |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | [committee], the commission by rule shall establish: |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | (1) the number of board [committee] members; |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | (2) qualifications for appointment to the board |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | [committee]; and |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | (3) the purpose and duties of the board [committee]. |

| 30 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
