| 12 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 13 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Sections 1063.051(c) and (d), Special District |
|---|
| 14 | 8 | | Local Laws Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | (c) An election shall be held on the uniform election date |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | in November [May] of each even-numbered year to elect the |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | appropriate number of directors. |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | (d) Directors serve staggered four-year terms that expire |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | on the last day of December [second Tuesday in June]. |

| 20 | 14 | | SECTION 2. Section 1063.112, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |

| 22 | 16 | | Sec. 1063.112. CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS. A construction |

| 23 | 17 | | contract that involves the expenditure of more than the amount |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | provided by Section 271.024, Local Government Code, [$10,000] may |

| 25 | 19 | | be made only after advertising in the manner provided by Subchapter |

| 26 | 20 | | B, Chapter 271 [Chapter 252 and Subchapter C, Chapter 262], Local |

| 28 | 22 | | SECTION 3. The board of directors of the Montgomery County |
