2222 relating to the appointment by insurers, health maintenance
2323 organizations, and their agents of holders of a temporary agent's

2525 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
2626 SECTION 1. Section 4001.162, Insurance Code, is amended to
2727 read as follows:
2828 Sec. 4001.162. RESTRICTION ON APPOINTMENT OF TEMPORARY
2929 LICENSE HOLDERS. (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), an [An]
3030 agent, insurer, or health maintenance organization may not appoint
3131 more than 500 temporary license holders during a calendar year.
3232 (b) The commissioner shall adopt reasonable rules setting
3333 standards for an agent, insurer, or health maintenance organization
3434 to appoint more than 500 temporary license holders during a
3535 calendar year. The standards must include consideration of the
3636 ability of an agent, insurer, or health maintenance organization to
3737 monitor appointed temporary agents.
3838 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
