| 6 | 6 | | relating to bond elections for the Lynn County Hospital District. |

| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 1054.201, Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (a) The board may issue and sell general obligation bonds in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the name and on the faith and credit of the district to: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (1) purchase, construct, acquire, repair, or renovate |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | buildings or improvements; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (2) equip buildings or improvements for hospital |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | purposes; or |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (3) acquire and operate a mobile emergency medical |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | service. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) No bonds shall be issued by the hospital district |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | except refunding bonds until authorized by a majority of the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | qualified property taxpaying electors. The order for the bond |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | election shall specify the date of the election, the amount of bonds |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to be authorized, the maximum maturity of the bonds, the maximum |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | rate of interest they are to bear, the place or places where the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | election shall be held, the presiding judge and alternate judge for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | each voting place and provide for clerks as in the county |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | elections. Notice of any bond election, except one held under the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | provisions of Section 8, in which instance notice shall be given as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provided in Section 3, shall be given as provided in Article 704, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, and shall be |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | conducted in accordance with the general laws of Texas pertaining |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | to general elections, except as modified by the provisions of this |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Act. |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
