55 AN ACT
66 relating to bond elections for the Lynn County Hospital District.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 1054.201, Special District Local Laws
99 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1010 (a) The board may issue and sell general obligation bonds in
1111 the name and on the faith and credit of the district to:
1212 (1) purchase, construct, acquire, repair, or renovate
1313 buildings or improvements;
1414 (2) equip buildings or improvements for hospital
1515 purposes; or
1616 (3) acquire and operate a mobile emergency medical
1717 service.
1818 (b) No bonds shall be issued by the hospital district
1919 except refunding bonds until authorized by a majority of the
2020 qualified property taxpaying electors. The order for the bond
2121 election shall specify the date of the election, the amount of bonds
2222 to be authorized, the maximum maturity of the bonds, the maximum
2323 rate of interest they are to bear, the place or places where the
2424 election shall be held, the presiding judge and alternate judge for
2525 each voting place and provide for clerks as in the county
2626 elections. Notice of any bond election, except one held under the
2727 provisions of Section 8, in which instance notice shall be given as
2828 provided in Section 3, shall be given as provided in Article 704,
2929 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, and shall be
3030 conducted in accordance with the general laws of Texas pertaining
3131 to general elections, except as modified by the provisions of this
3232 Act.
3333 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3434 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3535 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3636 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3737 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
