| 8 | 8 | | admission to a new graduate and professional program. |

| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.842, Education Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (e) Notwithstanding Subsection (d), if compliance with |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | requirements of an accrediting agency effectively prevent a general |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | academic teaching institution or medical and dental unit from |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | timely publishing the factors to be considered in admissions |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | decisions, the institution may delay publication of the factors, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | but shall publish the factors as soon as practicable when |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | compliance with accrediting agency requirements permits. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
