125 relating to retaining a reserve investigator by a prosecuting
136 attorney.
147 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
158 SECTION 1. Section 41.102(a), Government Code, is amended
169 to read as follows:
1710 (a) A prosecuting attorney may employ the assistant
1811 prosecuting attorneys, investigators, secretaries, and other
1912 office personnel that in the prosecuting attorney's [his] judgment
2013 are required for the proper and efficient operation and
2114 administration of the office. The commissioners court may
2215 authorize a prosecuting attorney to appoint reserve investigators.
2316 The commissioners court may limit the number of reserve
2417 investigators that a prosecuting attorney may appoint. A reserve
2518 investigator may accept other employment or compensation that does
2619 not impair the reserve investigator's independence in the
2720 performance of the reserve investigator's duties for the
2821 prosecuting attorney.
2922 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
