| 14 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | is amended by adding Section 225.103 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | Sec. 225.103. MASTER SERGEANT MIKE C. PEÑA MEMORIAL |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of Farm-to-Market Road 1301 in Wharton |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | County between its intersection with the Matagorda County line and |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | Richmond Road is designated as the Master Sergeant Mike C. Peña |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | Memorial Highway. The designation is in addition to any other |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | designation. |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | designation as the Master Sergeant Mike C. Peña Memorial Highway |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | and any other appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |

| 29 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
