A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to toll rates for certain vehicles traveling on State
Highway 130.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 228, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 228.0531 to read as follows:
Sec. 228.0531. TOLLS FOR CERTAIN VEHICLES ON STATE HIGHWAY
130. To encourage an operator of a vehicle or combination of
vehicles with three or more axles to use State Highway 130, the
commission and the department shall develop a program to discount
or adjust toll rates for a vehicle or combination of vehicles with
three or more axles traveling on Segments 1-4 of State Highway 130.
SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2016, the Texas
Transportation Commission and the Texas Department of
Transportation shall develop and implement the toll rate adjustment
program required by Section 228.0531, Transportation Code, as added
by this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
