| 11 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 504.202, Transportation Code, is amended |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | by adding Subsection (a-1) and amending Subsection (e) to read as |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | (a-1) The department shall design a license plate to be |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | available for distribution to female veterans of the United States |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | armed forces who qualify for a license plate under this section. |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | (e) Other than license plates issued under Subsection (h), |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | license plates issued under this section must include: |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | (1) the letters "DV" on the plate if the plate is |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | issued for a vehicle other than a motorcycle; and |
|---|
| 22 | 20 | | (2) the words: |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | (A) "Disabled Veteran" and "U.S. Armed Forces" at |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | the bottom of each license plate; or |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | (B) "Woman Disabled Veteran" and "U.S. Armed |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | Forces" at the bottom of each license plate issued under Subsection |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | (a-1). |

| 28 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
