| 9 | 10 | | Canada, Kerry Danyluk was the son of Diane and Kenneth Danyluk; he |

| 10 | 11 | | moved with his family to Texas when he was eight years old and went |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | on to graduate in 2004 from Yoakum High School, where he played on |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the varsity baseball team; after attending Victoria College, he |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | returned to British Columbia; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Fulfilling a lifelong goal, Mr. Danyluk enlisted in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the army in October 2010, and he underwent basic training at Fort |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Benning, Georgia; he received further infantry and airborne |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | training and was ultimately selected for the Ranger Assessment and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Selection Program, which he completed with a "Top Shot" award; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Specialist Danyluk was deployed to Afghanistan as a |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, and following his first tour of |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | duty, he became a scout sniper with the 10th Mountain Division 2-87 |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Scout Unit; while on patrol in Logar Province on April 12, he was |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | critically wounded by enemy forces using small-arms fire; he was |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | flown to Landstuhl, Germany, for treatment and passed away a few |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | days later, surrounded by his loved ones; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, During his brief but distinguished military career, |

| 27 | 28 | | Specialist Danyluk earned the respect of his fellow soldiers, and |

| 28 | 29 | | he was the recipient of many awards and commendations; he was |

| 29 | 30 | | treasured by all who knew him for his quiet strength, his love of |

| 30 | 31 | | adventure, and his wonderful sense of humor; and |

| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Kerry Danyluk brought dedication, perseverance, and |

| 32 | 33 | | courage to his every endeavor, and although his death left a void in |
