| 14 | 15 | | Chosin Reservoir in November 1950 as part of the 31st Regimental |

| 15 | 16 | | Combat Team; on the night of November 27-28, 1950, RCT-31, known |

| 16 | 17 | | historically as Task Force Faith, was attacked by vastly larger |

| 17 | 18 | | numbers of enemy forces; the fighting continued for some two weeks, |

| 18 | 19 | | with the task force suffering grievous losses; on December 2, 1950, |

| 19 | 20 | | Sergeant Sanchez, who had been treating the wounded, was reported |

| 20 | 21 | | as missing in action, and on December 31, 1953, he was listed as |

| 21 | 22 | | presumed dead; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, the family of Sergeant Sanchez |

| 23 | 24 | | continued to search for information as to his fate; his remains have |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | now been recovered and have been identified through DNA, and he is |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | being laid to rest with full military honors on January 23, 2015, at |

| 26 | 27 | | Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Sanchez was the recipient of the Purple |

| 28 | 29 | | Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service |

| 29 | 30 | | Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Presidential |

| 30 | 31 | | Unit Citation, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal; he was |

| 31 | 32 | | also awarded the Combat Medical Badge; and |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Unwavering in his devotion to duty, honor, and this |

| 33 | 34 | | country, Sergeant Gilberto Sanchez embodied the highest ideals of |
